Questions générales
Is the ski pass included in the lesson price?
No, the ski pass is not included in the lesson price and is required to access the ski lifts. Please remember to purchase your pass in advance or check whether it is included in a package.
The lesson price included public liability insurance, which covers any damage caused to a third party during lessons.
Please note: This does not cover your own costs in the event of an accident, such as rescue services, medical expenses, equipment or unused life passes.
We therefore recommend checking your existing personal cover or taking out suitable insurance.
We recommend bringing the following for you child:
Ski trousers and a warm waterproof ski jacket or ski suit,
Goggles or sunglasses,
Warm mittens or gloves,
Sun cream and tissues.
For their ski equipment, you will also need:
Ski boots,
Skis,
Poles, from 1ère étoile onwards only,
A helmet, strongly recommended!
Does my child need to be toilet-trained to attend lessons?
Yes, your child must be toilet-trained(without nappies) to take part in lessons.
Children who still wear nappies cannot attend lessons or the Kids' Club.
Are full-day packages with the Kids' Club suitable for 3-year-olds?
We do not recommend full-day packages with the Kids' Club for 3-year-olds as children that age may need more rest and a gentler pace.
Snowboard
Do I need protective equipment for snowboarding?
Yes, we recommend wearing a helmet and wrist guards when snowboarding to help you stay safe.
I've never skied before. Can I still sign up for a snowboard lesson?
Absolutely. Skiing and snowboarding are two different disciplines, so you don't need to know how to ski before learning to snowboard.
Compétition
Do I need to arrive at the meeting point early?
Yes, please meet us at the Savoy ski area at 8.45am to ensure your lesson gets off to a smooth start.
Do I need protective equipment for competition skiing?
Yes, wearing a helmet and back protector is strongly recommended when taking part in competition skiing.
Are the Flèche and Chamois tests included in the Children Competition Course?
Yes, depending on the course you choose:
Children on the Initiation course can take the Flèche test.
Children on the Elite Racing course can take both the Flèche and Chamois tests.
Are the Flèche and Chamois tests included in the Elite Racing Course?
Yes, children enrolled in Elite Racing can take both the Flèche and Chamois tests during their week-long course.
Team Rider
Do I need protective equipment for Team Rider?
Yes, wearing a helmet and back protector is strongly recommended.
Do I need any special equipment for Team Rider?
Your instructor will provide you with a backpack containing all the required safety equipment.
Ados / Adultes
Where does the lesson end?
Lessons end on the slopes.
Transport back to the town centre is not included.

Are Private Lessons suitable for beginners skiers?
Absolutely. Private Lessons are a great way to learn to ski, receive personalised instruction and progress at your own pace.
Can I book the same private lesson for two people?
Yes, provided they are of a similar age and level.
Engagement
What's the difference between an instructor and an instructor-guide?
An instructor leads outings on marked runs, off-piste and in non-glacial areas.
An instructor-guide can do everything an instructor can, plus accompany you in glacial areas.
What can I expect from a half-day or full-day with an instructor or instructor-guide?
Your instructor or instructor-guide will meet you at your accommodation.
You'll travel in a private vehicle.
The schedule, destinations and activities are all tailored to your preferences so you can enjoy a fully personalised experience and expert instruction.
Handiski
Who are Handiski private lessons for?
Handiski private lessons are suitable for people with disabilities, whatever their level:
Physical disabilities,
Visual impairments, including partial or complete sight loss.
Is equipment included in the price of Handiski private lessons?
Yes, specialist equipment is included in the lesson price.
Depending on your needs and preferences, your instructor will select the equipment that is best suited to you.
Available equipment includes dualski, uniski, ski chairs and ski-karts.
Nordique
What's the difference between classic and skating?
Cross-country skiing can be practised using two different techniques:
Classic Technique: Ski along parallel tracks set in the snow, using a natural, walking-like motion with alternating strides. Easy to learn and accessible to all, it's ideal for children and beginners.
Skating: Ski on a groomed trailwithout tracks, using a skating motion with the skis in a "V" shape. More dynamic and physically demanding, it requires greater balance, coordination and control, making it better suited to more experienced or sporty skiers.
What equipment do I need for biathlon?
Cross-country skiing equipment is not provided. We recommend hiring the appropriate equipment, either classic or skating, depending on the discipline you choose.
Rifles (laser or .22 LR), however, are provided.
Where can I hire cross-country skiing equipment?
You can hire cross-country skiing equipment from most sports shops in Chamonix.
Raquettes
Is equipment included?
Yes, showshoes and poles are provided for private snowshoeing outings.
